Career EdVantage provides high school students with opportunities to explore a wide range of high-demand career fields, gain valuable real-world experience, and develop the education and skills necessary to pursue their chosen career path.
Our program is designed to help students establish a strong foundation during high school and continue building upon it beyond graduation, ensuring they are well-prepared for successful careers with local businesses that are eager to retain homegrown talent within Southwest Iowa communities.
During high school, Career EdVantage students:
Participate in the Career EdVantage class
Explore career options and identify their personal strengths
Create a personalized written plan for their future
Strengthen both academic and workplace skills
Participate in Career EdVantage internship experiences
Gain part-time employment
Collaborate with their Career Coach to overcome challenges
Take career-related courses at IWCC or within their high school
Apply for the Career EdVantage Scholarship
Complete financial aid applications (FAFSA)
Submit the IWCC Scholarship Application
Graduate from high school prepared for their next steps
