Our Goals

Career EdVantage is dedicated to developing student life-long stability and success by providing comprehensive support, career exploration, and skill development that empower students to achieve sustained personal and professional growth. Through individualized coaching, professional development, financial literacy education, and work-based learning experiences, we equip students with the tools necessary to navigate career pathways with confidence and resilience. Additionally, Career EdVantage is committed to workforce and economic development, bridging the gap between education and industry by generating a pipeline of skilled, motivated talent that meets the evolving needs of local employers. By forming strategic partnerships with businesses and community stakeholders, we drive economic prosperity and ensure long-term workforce sustainability across Southwest Iowa.

Annually, Career EdVantage aims to add 100 job-ready individuals to the Southwest Iowa workforce in high-demand areas such as healthcare, business and communications, science-technology-engineering-math, and industrial technology and transportation.

Career EdVantage has provided a greater door to opportunity. I'm enrolled in the Construction Management program at Iowa Western, and with the support of my Career EdVantage coach, I am enjoying it, and doing well in my classes.

Our Impact This Year

Career EdVantage partners with 12 school districts across our region, currently serving more than 400 students and welcoming approximately 125 new participants each year. Our dedicated Career EdVantage coaches invest significant time and expertise in guiding students’ personal, academic, and professional growth. We are committed to ensuring that every student has access to meaningful, real-world, hands-on experiences aligned with their career interests, made possible through the strong, enduring partnerships we have built with exceptional businesses throughout our community.
