Career EdVantage Career Programming
Career EdVantage is designed to help retain and grow young talent in Southwest Iowa by connecting CEV students with meaningful career exploration and work-based learning opportunities through local business and industry partnerships.
Through Career EdVantage programming, students participate in a variety of real-world career experiences that help them explore industries, build professional skills, and better understand future career pathways. These experiences may include industry tours, job shadows, part-time employment, full-time employment, and internships, depending on student interests and business partner opportunities. One of the most impactful aspects of Career EdVantage is its individualized approach. Every student’s career experiences and programming are intentionally tailored to their unique circumstances, interests, strengths, goals, and future aspirations, creating meaningful opportunities that support both personal growth and career exploration.
Students also engage in career-readiness programming focused on professionalism, communication, self-awareness, and workplace expectations, helping them build confidence and prepare for future success.
Throughout the experience, Career EdVantage coaches provide ongoing mentorship, guidance, and support to both students and employer partners, ensuring every opportunity is meaningful, growth-centered, and aligned with student goals.
